What? you’re thinking. It’s Friday, Friday. Gotta get…
Oh, never mind. Rebecca Black was so last month. 😉
Anyway, it’s Friday–why is he running a Wednesday Haterade piece today? I tell you why:
I’ve reserved a special spot in my shriveled little grinchy heart of choice vitriol for a special lady:
That’s right: she’s seen all the other “hate” pieces I’ve run on this blog, and I think she’s feeling a little left out. Thus, I aim to oblige her.
Well, Honey, this “hate’s” for you! You’re welcome!
I “hate” how kind and merciful she is–how she’ll make a meal for a family need, how she’s adopted a family, coordinating the delivery of Christmas presents. Nobody is that kind, but she is! She is! (She probably wouldn’t want me tell you this, but she once arranged for a family who couldn’t afford it to have garbage collection service).
I “hate” how she always thinks of others first–looking for needs to meet, and meeting them. (Me, I’m comfortable in my selfishness–she makes me look bad!).
I hate how often she’s right about me–and I hate giving her a hard time about it, instead of accepting her counsel.
I hate how my running late in the mornings causes her stress. I hate how her mercy is taken advantage of–by me and others–time and time again, and still somehow she manages to put herself out there again and again.
I hate that she has to endure so many chronic health challenges–despite which she manages to: take care of our kids, workout, take care of our home, cook our meals (believe me, folks, you don’t want me cooking), and somehow manage to do it all without complaining.
I hate that I often take advantage of her kindness. I hate that my sin spills over on her…
I hate that I waited this long to tell you all just how wonderful she is!
In short, I “hate” her with hot, cruel “hatred,” which is to say that I love her very much, and don’t know where I would be without her! Believe me, folks, no one else would have so patiently endured being married to me for almost twenty-one years!
Yet, somehow, she has found the grace to do just that. And I thank her immensely for it!
So, Honey–Lisa–this “hate’s” for you! I hope you like it. 🙂
How about you, folks? Any “Lisa’s” in your life that you likewise “hate?”
