Are You Being Served?

randomlychad  —  July 17, 2012 — 9 Comments

Like anything else, this blog doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It is what it is because you are who you are. Because you read it. If I were just interested in doing mind dumps, there are such things as diaries.

But that isn’t my purpose. And God knows I’m not out to win any popularity contests. What I am interested in is beating back the dark, helping us all–you, me–to know that we’re not alone.

I post my very human flaws, doubts, frailties because I belive that I’m not alone in them.

And in that regard, I’d like to ask you: are you being served? Is this blog meeting a need in your life? Can you identify, or are you interested in seeing different content here? Share in the comments.

  • I love where you have taken us and I like that the “flaws” make us feel connected.

    • Thanks, Sonja! Appreciate that. I think folks connect more through struggles than joys.

  • Absolutely Chad. You serve in MANY ways. You are honest, and open and vulnerable and Christ centered. That’s a RARE combination these days.

    • Thank-you, Jim! That’s indeed very humbling to hear. And a lot to live up to.

      Thanks for your support!

      • No problem. I’ll send you my address so you can pop the check in the mail 😉 hahahaha (I crack myself up. That counts for something, right?)

I can identify, and I do appreciate the type of posts you do. That being said, I’d be open to other sorts of posts as well. I don’t think one type of post negates another. It’s your blog, so write whatever you’d like!

    • Cool, Ricky! Thanks!

      The game is afoot.

  • As a newcomer, I’ve only been reading your blog for probably about a month or so, so unfortunately I don’t have a basis to go by to make any suggestions. What I’ve read, though, resonates with me, as I attempt myself to write about my flaws and doubts and frailties on my blog. I’m a huge proponent in showing people shortcomings and flaws because in one form or another there are hurting and confused people out there and they want and need to know that they are not alone in their circumstances. There’s already a lot of fake out there and therefore I find it difficult to relate. Continue to be “real” and change hearts and lives for the better!

    • Thanks, Thomas! Sure appreciate the vote of confidence! Means a lot.

God already knows anyway, right? So I may as well be real--as my reputation is very safely in His hands.
